Social Movements of the '50s, '60s and '70s

During the years from 1955 to the 1980s, Harvey Richards used still cameras to photograph the world around him. He shot photographs as he documented social movements during the making of his 22 films from 1958 to 1978.

Nature and people

He also photographed the beauty and wonder of the natural world and the people he encountered on his journeys around the United States and around the world. His international travels included journeys around Latin America, Europe, the Soviet Union and Africa.
